How to Determine the Term Code
This article covers how to determine the Term Code for each semester/term.
About Term Codes
Term Codes are four digit numbers that represent a specific term/semester. They are used most often for the campus schedule of classes in PeopleSoft/CMS, but there are other locations where you might see the Term Code (2227) instead of the name of the semester (Fall 2022).
To determine the Term Code:
- The first digit represents the century (e.g., 2)
- The next two digits represent the year (e.g., 22)
- The final digit represents the specific semester:
- 1 = winter (aka intersession)
- 3 = spring
- 5 = summer
- 7 = fall
For example, in 2022:
- 2221 = Winter 2022
- 2223 = Spring 2022
- 2225 = Summer 2022
- 2227 = Fall 2022
