Dropping Students from Your Class (Instructor-Initiated Drops)

This article covers how faculty can drop enrolled or waitlisted students from their class using the Faculty Homepage from the 1st - 11th day of instruction.

1. Log in to your Faculty Homepage.

2. Click on My Schedule.

3. If applicable, click Change Term to switch to a different term.

4. Click on the roster icon next to the class.

5. Use the Enrollment Status drop-down menu to select Enrolled or Waiting.

The default option for Enrollment Status is Enrolled.

Enrolled: you want to drop a student who is enrolled in your class

Waiting: you want to drop a student who is waitlisted for your class.

6. Be sure to read the information on dropping students above the class roster. Then place a checkmark next to the student(s) you want to drop from the class.

7. Then click Drop Selected Students below the roster.

If you don't see the Drop Selected Students button, then it may be after the deadline for an instructor-initiated drop (instructor-initiated drops are only valid fro the 1st day of instruction until the 11th day of instruction) or the class may not be set up to allow instructor-initiated drops. Contact the Office of the Registrar at [email protected] for assistance.

8. Check that the correct student(s) is listed in the pop-up confirmation. Then click OK.

9. On the confirmation screen, check that the Drop Status is Success. If not, please contact the Office of the Registrar for assistance.

10. The student will receive an email notification from the Office of the Registrar letting them know they have been dropped from the class.
