Student Search Report
This article covers how to run and interpret the Student Search report on the Student Success dashboard.
What does this report show?
The Student Search report allows users to enter the Campus-Wide ID (CWID) of one or more students to view detail information on those students including name, cohort, initial enrollment type, last enrolled term, degree term (if graduated), email, phone number, cell phone number, major at entry, major (latest), gender, ethnicity, underrepresented status, parent education level, units earned, units attempted (current term), units attempted (future term) group qual, cumulative GPA, degree candidate term, degree checkout consideration term & status, academic standing, EOP participation, freshman programs participation, degree audit program, degree audit run date and degree audit status.
1. Log in to the CSUF Data Warehouse (OBIEE).
2. Click on Dashboards and select Student Success.
Report Overview
When you access the report, your personal settings for the report (page) appear. If you have not set up your personal settings, there will be no default results shown. You will have to select a student or students to see any results.
1. Click in the CWID field and type the CWID or CWIDs of the students that you want to look up. Then click Apply.
If you enter multiple CWIDs, separate each one with a semi-colon.
Reading the Table

CWID | The campus-wide ID of the student. |
First Name | The first name of the student. |
Middle Name | The middle name of the student. |
Last Name | The last name of the student. |
Cohort | The catalog year of the cohort that the student belongs to. i.e., fa04 = students whose catalog year is fall 2004. |
Initial Enrollment Type | The enrollment type of the student when they first came to CSUF (e.g., first-time full-time freshman, new undergraduate transfer). |
Last Enrolled Term | The last term for which the student enrolled in classes. |
Degree Term (if graduated) | The academic term during which a degree was awarded to this student (if applicable). |
Email1 | The student's CSUF student email address. |
Email2 | The student's personal email address if provided. |
Phone Number | The student's primary phone number. |
Cell Phone Number | The student's cell phone number. |
Major at Entry | The code for the student's major upon entry to CSUF. |
Major (Latest) | The code for the student's current major. |
Gender | The reported gender of the student. |
Ethnicity | The reported ethnic group of the students in the cohort. |
Underrepresented? | The underrepresented status of the student:

Parent's Education | The highest level of education completed by the student’s parents. |
Units Earned | The total number of units that the student has earned. |
Units Attempted (Current) | The number of units that the student is enrolled in for the current academic term. |
Current Term | The current academic term. |
Units Attempted (Future) | The number of units that the student is enrolled in for the future academic term. |
Future Term | The future academic term. |
Group Qual | |
Campus GPA | The student's GPA for all units taken at CSUF. |
Cumulative GPA | The student's GPA for all units taken at all institutions. |
Degree Candidate Term | The academic term that the student is a degree candidate for. |
Degree Checkout Consideration Term | The academic term that the student is being considered a degree candidate for. |
Degree Checkout Consideration Status | Status of the degree checkout for the student. |
Academic Standing | Indicates whether the student is in good standing with the university. |
EOP Participation |
The EOP Participation status of the student.

The Freshman Programs Participation status of the student.
