Viewing the Status of a Request
This article demonstrates how to view the status of requests submitted in Coursedog during Phases 3 and 4 (Administrative Review and Go Live).
1. Log in to Coursedog. If prompted, select Scheduling.
2. Select Requests from the Scheduling Management menu on the left-hand side of the page.

3. Select a request type from the Request Dashboard.
The numbers in the boxes next to the request types indicates how many requests there are.
- Vote Required: Requests where the user needs to submit a vote to move the request forward. This is typically where users should go to view items that require their action.
- Assigned To Me: Requests that you did not initiate which require your review/action as well as requests that you have already taken action on or have been force approved.
- Created By Me: Requests that you initiated
- All Requests: All requests in the system related to your access area(s)
- Archived Requests: Requests that have been archived by users with the appropriate permissions
4. Select the request that you want to view.
You can hover over the Current Step bubbles for a quick view of the step status.
5. View the request information and status. If you are part of the approval workflow, you can also submit your decision.
- At the top of the screen, you'll see the date and time that the request was submitted and the employee that initiated the request.
- The top left of the screen will show request information including the reason for the request entered by the author (requestor/initiator), course, section number, and term. If the request is a rule exception, the rule will also be indicated.
- Fields Changed summarizes the modifications being requested. The original field values are highlighted in red and prefixed with a minus sign, while the requested changes are highlighted in green and prefixed with a plus sign.
- Click View Existing Section Information to view all current section information.
- Click View Requested Section Information to view all section details, including proposed edits.
- View the status of the request. Hovering over the circles provides more detail about the status. This information is also reflected in the Workflow tab.
- If you are part of the workflow, you will see the approval/rejection options available to you. View instructions on approving requests in Coursedog.
- The current step shows the step name, status, deadline, and what happens if no action is taken by the deadline.
6. Note the following workflow if no decision has been made after 4 days of receiving the request:
From the Department Chair step, it will automatically proceed to the Associate Dean step.
