Requests Quick Start Guide

This article presents changes that need to go through the Requests process during Phases 3 and 4.

Changes not listed in this article should be processed in PeopleSoft or the Schedule Change Form.

Accessing the Requests page and creating a request

View instructions on accessing and initiating requests

1. Log in to Coursedog from the campus portal. If prompted, select Scheduling.

2. Select Requests from the Scheduling Management menu on the left-hand side of the page.

3. Click Create Request.

4. Select Section Change as the Request Type, then click Create Request.

  1. Select Section Change from the drop-down menu.
  2. Click Create Request.

5. Choose a Term. From the Type of Change menu, select Edit Section. Select a Course, then choose the Section that you want to change. Enter a reason for the request (e.g. cancel section.)

When selecting the course, make sure you choose the one with the correct career.

Do not click Submit Request yet!

6. Scroll down to the Schedule Change Requests card and select whether or not you are trying to change the meeting days and times. From the drop-down menu, select Fast Track, Schedule Change Form, or Extended Ed - Instructor Change Only depending on the type of change being requested. You may also type in any relevant comments.

  1. Click Yes or No to indicate whether or not you are changing the class meeting dates or times.
  2. Select one of the following to indicate the action being taken:
    Schedule Change Form: if you are adding/cancelling a section
    Extended Ed - Instructor Change Only: if you are changing the instructor of an extended education/self-support class.
  3. (OPTIONAL) You can enter supplemental information in the Comments field.

After Submission

Viewing Request Status

After submitting the request, you will see the date of submission, the content of the request, and the request workflow. You can return to this information later in your Requests page.

  1. The requestor and submission date and time are listed at the top of the page.
  2. The Impact Report lists the requested modifications. Requested changes are highlighted in green with a plus sign in front, while the prior settings are highlighted in red with a minus sign in front.
  3. You can click View Existing Section Information to view all current class information.
  4. You can click View Requested Section Information to view all requested changes.
  5. Click Workflow to view the workflow steps and status.
Approving Requests

Requests route to the departments and then to the colleges for approval before moving onto Scheduling/Extended Ed.

Editing Requests

You can edit a request at any point while the status is pending, however, this will start the request over in the workflow.
