Adding and Removing Rooms
This article covers how authorized Coursedog Schedulers can add or remove rooms during the Open Scheduling phase.
Search and access the course on the Section Dashboard
Refer to the Viewing Class Offering guide for detailed instructions on accessing the Section Dashboard.
- Search for the course by name or class number.
- Click the course in the search result(s) to open the editing window.
1. On the course editing window, go to the Meeting Patterns & Rooms card and click the room's name.
OR If no room has been set for the course, click Not set.
2. A new window opens. Available rooms that fit the class's enrollment capacity will automatically appear for your selection.

- By default, only available rooms will be listed.
- By default, only rooms with greater than or equal to capacity of your course will be listed.
- Click the Filter by Type caret to filter by types of classrooms (e.g., CMLB for Computer Lab).
- Click the Filter by Features caret to filter by features of classrooms (e.g., General Use Classroom).
3. You can also search for a specific room by typing the room's name in the Search bar.

4. View additional room details (if available) and select the room.

- Some rooms may have images of the room available. Click on an image to view it.
- Hover your mouse over the info icon for a room to see additional about it (e.g., room features).
- Click the room you want to schedule for this course.
2. A new window opens, click Select No Room.

1.1. In the below example, the class's enrollment capacity is 25. I'm looking for room GH202, which does not appear on the search results initially.

1.2. To see room GH202, click the All rooms toggle. GH202 will now be listed in the search results, showing a room capacity of 24.

- Click the All rooms toggle to turn it on.
- Room GH202 will appear in the search results.
1.3. If using the GH202 room, the course enrollment capacity needs to be updated to match with the room capacity of 24 in the Enrollment Settings card.
- On the Enrollment Settings card, change the Enrollment Capacity to match with the selected room's capacity.
- Click Save Section.
1.4. Go back to the Assign Room window to search for GH202, and the room will appear in the search results for selection.

2.1. On the Assign Room window, disable the toggles for Available Rooms and Rooms greater than or equal to capacity to search for the room.
- Click the toggle to disable the Show Only Available Rooms filter.
- Click the toggle to disable the Rooms greater than or equal to capacity filter.
- Type the room name into the search bar.
- The room status shows that it's not available.
- Hover your mouse on the information icon to see details about the room's availability.
2.2. If applicable, contact the appropriate department coordinator who manages the class(es) that occupy the room to check if you can use the room for your class.
2.3.1. The department coordinator removes the room from the current class(es) on Coursedog.

2.3.2. After a few minutes, the department coordinator checks that the room removal is successfully synced with PeopleSoft as indicated by the green banner on the course editing page.
2.3.3. The department coordinator notifies you that that room is now available for your course.
2.4. Add the available room to your class.
