Dropping a class with a waitlisted status.
Camille Johnson
Hi Cristina! These steps also work for dropping waitlist classes.
Please be aware that there are deadlines to drop classes using this method, which can be found on the registration guides on the Registration and Records website (http://records.fullerton.edu/registration/registrationguides.php). The deadline to drop via Titan Online was February 6.
If you need further assistance, you can contact Registration and Records at: http://records.fullerton.edu/contact/index.php

I am trying to drop a class that starts 3/11 and its withdraw dates are from now till 3/24th without a grade of “W”. I've been trying but I keep getting the message:
"You cannot drop this class at this time, the deadline to self-drop has passed. You must submit a Student Course Withdrawal request."
How can I do that?
Camille Johnson
Hi Anh! more information about the Student Course Withdrawal Request, as well as a link to the actual form can be found at: http://records.fullerton.edu/services/withdrawal.php
Celeste
I dropped the classes successfully, do I need to fill out a different form/take different steps to get a refund? Or is it automatic?
Camille Johnson
Hi Celeste! Refunds are automatically generated for eligible students who drop online before the deadline. You're eligible for a partial refund if you go from full-time to part-time status or a full refund if you drop all classes. If you have additional questions, you can contact Student Business Services at [email protected].
Ann Adajar
For summer of 2023 when is the final dropped date?
Camille Johnson
Hi Ann! It depends on what summer session the class is scheduled for. Please view the Summer 2023 important deadlines page for information on drop deadlines: https://extension.fullerton.edu/summer/dates.aspx
Maile Kahananui
I am trying to unenroll from Fullerton and one of my classes won't unenroll me or let me drop from the course, how should I go around fixing this? It is a prerequisite course.
Camille Johnson
Hi Maile! The section might be set up in a way that permission is required to drop. Some GEs are set up this way. You can contact Registration and Records at [email protected] or 657-278-7601 to request that you be administratively dropped from the class. When you contact them, please provide your CWID and the course information (course number. section and/or class number).
Griselda Valdez
Hi! I am a student at Cal Poly Humboldt enrolled in a CSU Fully Online class and the system will not let me drop the course. I've called the office and left to messages and no one has contacted me back. I need to figure this out as soon as possible because of the deadline
Camille Johnson
Hi Griselda! If you are encountering issues dropping the course and haven't been able to reach Registration and Records by phone, you may fare better sending them an email at [email protected] or using their helpdesk which you can find on their website at: https://records.fullerton.edu/contact/index.php
William Loranca
Hi! I enrolled in a class but it does not allow me to drop the class, as I enrolled last second to it but the class unfortunately doesn't align with my schedule and I wont be able to attend class because of work but when I try to drop the class, all it pops up is "Cannot drop class number #17957 as it is used to complete Pathway Courses/GE requirements." Any help is appreciated as I really cannot attend this class.
Camille Johnson
Hi William! At this time, you must contact an academic advisor for approval to drop ENGL 101. If they approve, they must send an email to Registration and Records at [email protected] granting permission to move forward with the drop. For your major, you can reach out to [email protected] to get in touch with an advisor.
Drake
I am enrolled in 3 classes but need to drop 1 class as I only need 2 classes to graduate. The site is not allowing me to drop the extra class. I keep getting this message "You cannot drop this class. Dropping this class would not meet the minimum required units."
Camille Johnson
Hi Drake! That looks like a error that's usually associated with student athletes. If you're an athlete, please contact Athletics Academic Services to obtain the necessary permissions to drop the course. You can find their information on their website at: https://www.fullerton.edu/aas/
If you are not a student athlete, please reach out to Registration and Records for assistance at [email protected] or 657-278-7601.
Nathaniel Meza
I forgot that we can swap classes. I meant to swap HCOM 102 for ENGL 101P but just enrolled for ENGL 101P instead. I have six classes instead of five and I want to drop HCOM 102 but the portal wont let me.
Camille Johnson
Hi Nathaniel! I believe that HCOM 102 is a GE course that requires administrative approval to drop, so you'll need assistance from an academic advisor. After meeting with your advisor, they can send an email to [email protected] to request that you be dropped from the course. If you're unsure who your advisor is, you can look up information at https://www.fullerton.edu/academic-advising/find-my-advisor/
Karla Huerta
I'm trying to drop a class (ESM 10S) but it keeps saying "Not processed due to system error. Unable to process this request at this time. Try again later". I've tried again another time/day and it still keep saying the same thing and doesn't let me. The class(ESM 10S) is supplement class for ESM 110 (I was able to drop ESM 110 but not ESM 10S)
Lori Arthur
Hi Karla! I would recommend reaching out to Registration & Records for assistance. They can be reached at [email protected] or 657-278-7601. You can also visit their Contact Us page for a link to open a ticket with them: https://records.fullerton.edu/contact/ (scroll down beneath their mailing address for the button to open a ticket).
Riya Murdia
I have dropped the class today and enrolled in other class but on my dashboard details are not available.
When will i able to see course details.
Riya Murdia
Drop - Retain Record09/04/2024
A class dropped on or before this date will be retained on your academic record with a status of dropped.
When i dropped the class it was showing this comment but as per registration page till 10 September 2024 we can drop without Drop-Retain Record.
Can you explain that?
Camille Johnson
Hi Riya! Are you referring to your Canvas dashboard? If you add a class after the first day, your professor will need to add you to Canvas manually. You can reach out to the instructor to let them know that you just enrolled in their class and need to access to the Canvas page. When you contact them, please have your CWID ready as they may need it to add you.
Camille Johnson
Hi Riya! The team monitoring this article is not connected to the registrar, so I'm not sure why there's a discrepancy between the information being shown on their webpage and what you're seeing in the student center. You can reach out to the registrar's office for clarification. Their contact information is listed on their website at: https://records.fullerton.edu/contact/index.php
Alan Sanchez
Hi, I had question regarding dropping a class, the deadline to drop the class had just passed and I was wondering how dropping a class would effect me and my transcript, I understand it will show the class on my transcript with the grade of W but how does that effect me?
Camille Johnson
Hi Alan! To clarify—the deadline to drop a class without a W has passed, but it is still possible to drop a class until 11/15/24 for non-medical reasons or 12/06/24 for medical reasons. At this point, the course must be dropped through the Withdrawal Form at: https://records.fullerton.edu/services/withdrawal.php
A grade of W has no numerical value and is not counted toward your GPA. Undergraduates are allowed to drop a maximum of 18 units during their stay at CSUF.
If you have academic concerns about the withdrawal and how it may affect your future class schedule, academic goals, or the like, I'd recommend speaking to an advisor. You can find your advisor at: https://www.fullerton.edu/academic-advising/find-my-advisor/index.html#box1
If you receive financial aid, there may be implications depending on what type of aid you're receiving. You can reach out to Financial Aid if you have questions about that: https://www.fullerton.edu/financialaid/contactus/
Dayan
I don't have the requested for a class and I'm trying to drop out but the system won't let me. How can I drop the class and lab or will they get dropped on thire own?
Camille Johnson
Hi Dayan! Usually you can only drop classes using the above instructions during the first two or so weeks of class. You can check the deadlines on the semester registration guide which you can find on the Registrar's website: https://records.fullerton.edu/registration/registrationguides.php
After the deadline to drop through your Student Center, you will have to submit a withdrawal form to drop a class. The withdrawal form, instructions, and deadline information can be found at: https://records.fullerton.edu/services/withdrawal.php
