The Math/QR Placement M3 and M4 holds are informational only. These holds DO NOT prevent you from registering for classes.
Refer to the steps below on how to resolve the Math/QR Placement M3 and M4 holds.
Based on your major, select the appropriate link below to see the next steps.
To resolve either the Math/QR Placement M3 or M4 Hold, you will need to:
- Complete the ALEKS program for Calculus Placement (Click the ALEKS link in the Hold Details window on your account for more information).
OR
- Enroll in MATH 115A - College Algebra.
International students in these majors must take the Math Qualifying Exam (MQE) instead of ALEKS.

Based on your major, to resolve either the Math/QR Placement M3 or M4 hold, you will need to:
- Register for Math 110 (Mathematics for Liberal Arts Students) AND the co-requisite Math 10S (Mathematics for Liberal Arts Students Supplement). These courses must be taken together.
OR
- Register for Math 120 (Elementary Statistics) AND the co-requisite Math 20S (Elementary Statistics Supplement). These courses must be taken together.
