Open University: New Student Record Creation
This article covers how students who are new to CSU Fullerton can request a Campus-Wide ID (CWID) and PIN to access the campus portal for an enrollment appointment window (registration date) through Open University.
What would you like to do?
1. On the Open University registration page, click New Student Creation in the First Time at CSUF? section of Step 1 of the General Instructions.
Visit the Open University registration page.
2. Click on the New Students link.
3. Enter your information.
Note that fields with an asterisk * are required.
4. Enter your email address twice and then click Verify Email.
5. Complete the Google Recaptcha by clicking the box next to I'm not a robot and completing any verification prompts (e.g., clicking on images that have a specific thing in them).
6. Click Verify after completing the Recaptcha.
7. Click OK when you get a pop-up indicating the verify was a success.
8. Click Continue at the bottom of the Student Record Creation screen.
9. Choose Open University as the Program to Enroll. Select the Term you want to register for. Then click Submit.
Note this step generates an enrollment appointment window (registration date) for you to enroll. You can only select one term during record creation. However, once record creation is completed, please use the Returning Student Guide for steps to select an additional term/enrollment appointment window.
- Choose Open University as the Program to Enroll.
- Then select the Term you want to register for.
- Click Submit to finish creating your profile.
10. A new CWID is created for you and information on how your PIN for the campus portal will be sent to you is provided. Click Continue Record Creation.
11. Select why you are enrolling through an Extension Program from the drop-down menu. Then click Complete Survey.
12. You're done! Check your email for your portal login information and PIN. For enrollment instructions, click Review the Open University Enrollment Instructions.
Note that once you receive your CWID and PIN in your email, you will need to wait two business days (24-48 hours) before logging into the campus portal for the first time.

1. Log in to the campus portal with your personalized username and password.
2. Click on Student Homepage in the Titan Online widget.
3. Click on Manage Classes.
4. Select Enrollment Appointments in the left menu.
5. Check the begin and end dates for your enrollment appointment window (registration dates).
The appointment dates will align with Open University registration windows per term.
